Since 1918, Henry Farms has been a staple of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and continues to be a leader in agriculture and value-added products. Located at 263 Griffin Road in Knox, Henry Farms started with just 15 cows across 150 acres. In the 108 years since, its operations have grown to 190 cows over 500 acres. It is still a family-owned farm with husband and wife, Jill and Andrew Henry, milking up to 90 cows daily.
The Clarion County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) recently met with the Henrys to learn more about their farm operations. Not only is this century farm important to the history of Clarion County, but it also sells unique products with its customers' needs in mind. Keep reading to learn more about Henry Farms and how you can try some of its delicious milk products.
The Henrys say their products have the “A2 Advantage,” meaning their milk contains only A2 beta-casein proteins. Most milk products have both A1 and A2 proteins, but the amino acids in the A2 protein are easier for humans to digest. This means that drinking A2 milk can lead to less gut inflammation and fewer lactose intolerance symptoms. The Henrys also hold a Raw Milk License from the State of Pennsylvania to sell this product and meet local demand.
In 2020, the Henrys received the Pennsylvania Dairy Investment Grant to process and bottle their own milk. This has allowed them to sell directly to customers, bottle chocolate milk, and even offer unique flavors like caramel, raspberry, and white chocolate.
“We’ve always said doing a value-added portion and bottling our own milk was something we wanted to do,” says Jill in an interview with the Center for Dairy Excellence. “We never thought it could actually happen or that we could secure the funding.”
The advances in their business operations allow the Henrys to create new income streams while having more control over the products their milk becomes.

Customers interested in buying dairy products from Henry Farms can visit directly from 2 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday and Friday. Sales are first-come, first-served, and the farm is cash only. Henry Farms products are also found in local businesses in Knox and the surrounding areas. A few places where you can find them include:
Some of these businesses sell Henry Farms products directly, while others use the milk in their recipes. For example, one restaurant uses the milk in its creamy alfredo sauce.
Additionally, Henry Farms works with another farm in Latrobe to make cheese. You can buy their A2 Advantage Cheese online, on the farm, and in some stores.
The Henrys are proud of their century farm and eager to show how they care for their cows and how the A2 Advantage helps customers. They offer agricultural tours of the farm that showcase the facilities and milking process.
“We had a great time learning about the milking process and different types of products offered by Henry Farms,” says Jarred Heuer, Executive Director of the Clarion County EDC. “The Henrys have been an essential part of the community for decades, and we want to see them thrive for the next 100 years. Their passion for their cows and products is evident, and you can see how much they want to help their customers. We love businesses like Henry Farm in Clarion County.”
